Benny Or — Artist and creative director

Every project starts from an artist’s perspective: uncovering its soul, then building the language and the world around it.

After studying architecture, Benny Or spent a decade as a production designer and creative director in live entertainment before founding Benny Or Studio in 2021, which extended his practice into virtual architecture and fine art.

He brings to his process an acute understanding of contemporary art, with Artnet naming him a top influencer in 2018. His pioneering collaborations with the artist Cyril Lancelin helped establish legal frameworks for virtual IP ownership, and have been cited in academic papers and covered by Hypebeast, Metropolis and Interior Design.

He exhibits his paintings regularly in New York and is a returning guest critic at Parsons School of Design. His work in entertainment, from family shows to Noah Kahan’s first stadium tour, has been seen by millions. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada, he lives and works in Brooklyn.
